BIG BIRD’S Banana Bread

This recipe was a favorite of my son Chad when growing up. I could give him everything he needed and supervise him from the sidelines. The recipe is originally from a collection of books we owned in the late 1970s, “The Sesame Street Library Books”, and Book 14 featured this recipe with all the easy how to do instructions for children to follow. The recipe is foolproof and tastes great! This has become one of my most cherished recipes for making banana bread, and I hope one day Chad will enjoy making this with his daughter Mallory the same way I enjoyed making it with him.

3 peeled ripe bananas
¾ cup honey
¼ cup melted butter
½ tsp. baking soda
1½ cups flour

You will need:

1 big bowl
1 wooden spoon
1 fork
1 bread pan
1 cooling rack
1 toothpick
Set of potholders

  • Put bananas in bowl and smash with a fork.
  • Melt butter and blend with bananas.
  • Add, baking soda, flour, honey and mix.
  • Pour into bread pan and bake.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Use toothpick to check if done. Toothpick will come out clean.
