Evening bike rides on The Maple Highlands Trail are great fun!

How about evening bike rides to study bats? Well, they say there’s a first time for everything!

Load up your bike and bring it out to Mountain Run Station on Friday, August 4th, to go Biking with the Bats and Naturalist Linda Gilbert from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

This leisurely 10-mile ride to Stillwell Road and back will include stops at various locations to identify bat species in flight using a bat detector device. This device works by amplifying the frequency of their echo-location signals.

Helmets and bike lights are recommended. Registration is not required for the ride, but it will be cancelled in the event of rain, so please check the website for notice if weather seems inclement, and call 440-286-9516 in advance with questions.
