Winter break is coming up, which means it’s time to sharpen your sketching pencils, dust off your favorite smudge stick, and try out some Nature drawing in the park!

Registration is required at Geauga Park District or 440-286-9516 for Nature Drawing for Kids on Wednesday, December 27th, with hour-long sessions at 11:00 a.m. for ages 8-11 and at 1:00 p.m.for ages 12-15.

Only 12 seats are available for each session, so don’t delay if you like sketching or cartooning! Only one overflow session will be created if earlier sessions fill up at 2:00 p.m.

Geauga Park District’s art classes for kids cover techniques using pencils, tortillions (“smudge sticks”) and gum erasers. All supplies are provided.

Together we’ll learn the sneaky trick of animal anatomy that can help you draw any mammal with ease. (Here’s a hint: Nature is lazy!) We’ll also cover how to make quick sketches of animals in action, how to compose more elaborate sketches, and how to use a photograph as your subject.

Feel free to bring in a drawing you’ve already made to share, as well. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned artist, you’ll be amazed by what you can create!

The West Woods is located at 9465 Kinsman Road (Route 87) in Russell Township. Please call 440-286-9516 with questions.
