Park second graders serenaded senior citizens with Valentine Songs at Chardon High School’s recent Heart 2 Heart Dance.

The cold weather didn’t stop Chardon High School students from connecting with new friends and community members for the school’s Annual Heart 2 Heart Dance on Thursday, February 8th at Park Auditorium. Hosted by Chardon High School students, University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center and the Geauga County Department on Aging, the party was a celebration of life and a means of connecting generations. This event hallmarks Chardon High School’s core values in action. We are grateful for everyone who spent months planning for this experience and look forward to building upon our relationship with University Hospitals and the Department of Aging. Special thanks to CHS leadership teacher Rob Mizen, his students, and Sandy McCloud from the Senior Center, for putting together this outstanding event.

Kindergarten Information Night

Is your child ready for kindergarten? How do you know for sure? Kindergarten is an exciting and unfamiliar time for parents and students, and Chardon Schools is here to help. Parents and guardians of children entering kindergarten in Fall 2018 are invited to attend a special Kindergarten Information Night on February 28th to learn about the Chardon’s Kindergarten program, meet principals, teachers, fellow parents, and begin the registration process. Join us at 6:30 PM in the Chardon Middle School Large Group Instruction Room (LGIR) at 424 North Street.

Students in Carrie Korenke’s Spanish class at Chardon High School spent an interesting hour in the kitchen, honing their language skills while preparing Churros, a popular and highly calorific type of Spanish doughnut.

Attention Parents of Sixth Grade Students

Your child is required by state law to have both a meningococcal and a Tdap immunization before the start of 7th grade. It is not too early to immunize your child to be in compliance for next year. Chardon Middle Schoool nurse, Lori Strickland is accepting these immunizations records now. If you have any questions or concerns, please email [email protected]s.org or call the school at (440) 286-0457.
