Recently, fifteen members and guests of the Chardon Kiwanis Club gathered to learn and plan for the holidays. The meeting began with a presentation from Joe Trevino from the Ohio Department of Veterans Services. The main role of Mr. Trevino was to act as a workforce consultant to private and public employers. He participates in one on one or group education about veterans to employer human resource staff and senior management. Another important role of his is to act as a as a conduit between Ohio Means Jobs and companies looking to hire veterans.
The other consequential activity of the meeting was the finalization of details for the holiday party. This year’s party will be at 6:30 p.m. on November 30th. As in previous years, the group will be entertained by the Chardon High School Free Harmony, who will be coming after their performance at the Christmas Tree Lighting on the Chardon Square.
“The presentation by the Department of Veterans Services was very informative,” said Paul Grae, who is the President of the Chardon Kiwanis. “The club’s holiday party is going to be very entertaining for all those in attendance.”
