Congratulations to the 2018 Eagle Scout and Gold Award Girl Scout graduates of Kenston’s Class of 2018. In addition to academic success at Kenston, they have received the highest rank of achievement attainable as a scout by demonstrating leadership, service, and citizenship. They are (l-r): Scott Scuiva, Ryan Sauder, Jimmy Burg, Elise Markley, Savannah Fee, Sara Eshelman, Brandon Rumbarger, Justin Kovach and Michael Burge.

Kenston Middle School Students of the Month

Kenston Middle School is pleased to announce their April Students of the Month. Students selected for Student of the Month honors are sixth graders, Rex Eberhart, Madelyn Rees, Ben Serafin and Victoria Takacs; seventh graders, Ben Hamilton, Maria Insana, Madison Jones and AJ Pemberton; and eighth graders, Justin Croucher, Nick Grams, Hannah Lamont and Katrina Vokurka.

Kindergarten Portfolio Presentation

The Kindergarten students at Timmons Elementary shared the progression of their work throughout the school year with their families. They presented their portfolios of artwork, stories, and writings showcasing how much they have grown. Elizabeth Roche of Ms. Elizabeth Hope’s Kindergarten class, shared her portfolio with her mother Megan.

Kenston Middle School Students of the Quarter

Kenston Middle School is pleased to announce their Students of the Quarter for the fourth nine weeks of the school year. Sixth graders selected were Hadleigh Schmittel and Martin Weber; seventh graders, Rylyn Anderson and Nicholas Lai; and eighth graders, Rowan Collier and Elena Lioudis. These students are selected by their Encore teachers that include those teaching World Languages, Technology Integration, Health, Physical Education, Choir and Band.

Music in the Parks

The Kenston Middle School Ensemble and Jazz Band (Bomber Bluez) participated in Music in the Parks, a festival for student choral, orchestral, and band ensembles. The competition was held at Perkins High School, followed by the awards ceremony at Cedar Point on May 19th.

Kenston was awarded first place Middle School Jazz Band, first place Middle School Mixed Choir, and the Esprit de Corps Award. Congratulations to Nya Ku for being awarded Outstanding Soloist, and Colin Montville for Outstanding Student Accompanist.

Replay for Kids

Students in Mr. Christian Barrus’ physics class put their electric circuit knowledge to good use by modifying and re-wiring 42 new electronic toys in their Replay For Kids workshop. These adaptations were made to assist children with special needs and will be distributed to families in Northeast Ohio.
