Conservation can be educational and entertaining – see for yourself!
Of course we encourage you to live every day like Earth Day, but for the actual Earth Day, we’re doing something a little extra special.
Geauga Park District’s Natural Resource Management staff invites you to celebrate Earth Day locally through its free, interactive Earth Day Extravaganza on Sunday, April 22nd, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at The West Woods!
Planned family-friendly activities include presentations by wildlife experts, live animals, a Nature craft (seed bombs), amphibian/reptile show & tell, wildlife discovery walks, the Hunger Squad food truck and more, all focused on the 2018 theme “Your Backyard.”
Among the day’s six educational presentations: “Coyotes in Northeast Ohio” by Jon Cepak of Cleveland Metroparks, “Live Birds of Prey Show: Ohio’s Raptors” by Harvey Webster of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and “Organic Lawn Care for Your Home” by Mel Hauser of Good Nature Lawn Care.
Anyone interested can stop in any time during the event. Registration is not required. For a complete schedule of presentations and activities, visit the new Geauga Park District under Activities, then Special Events & Art Shows.
The West Woods is located at 9465 Kinsman Road (Route 87), Russell Township, OH. With questions, please call 440-286-9516.
