Geauga County Public Library Offers Creativebug Online Classes

Dreamers and makers, your world is about to explode with creative possibilities. Geauga County Public Library (GCPL) is pleased to announce Creativebug is now available. All you need is your GCPL card and access to an Internet-enabled device or computer to begin taking Creativebug’s online classes in more than 1,000 creative pursuits.

If you’ve been waiting for a nudge to create a masterpiece, here it is, and you don’t need to leave your home to learn how. Creativebug offers easy-to-follow video instruction from experts in their respective areas. Start when you can. Pause when you need a break. Resume when you’re ready.

Classes never expire. Explore your creative potential with Creativebug. Whether you’re interested in starting a fun crafting activity or deepening an existing talent, Creativebug’s instructors appeal to your desire to create.

Classes Include:

  • Book binding
  • Acrylic and watercolor painting
  • Knit and crochet
  • Manga drawing
  • Needle embroidery
  • Cake decorating
  • Canning and preserving
  • Jewelry making
  • Quilting
  • Paper crafts
  • Much more

To access course material, patrons can visit https://www.creativebug.com/. They will be prompted to enter their library card numbers ready upon first use. After creating an account, users will be able to log in and start creating. “GCPL offers numerous craft programs that frequently fill up,” says GCPL Director Ed Worso. “These Creativebug classes expand our ability to reach our crafty patrons. We are impressed by the opportunities that Creativebug offers. This is just another way patrons can use their library to engage, connect and inspire.”

About the Geauga County Public Library

The Geauga County Public Library includes four full-service branches in Bainbridge, Chardon, Chesterland (Geauga West) and Middlefield, two library stations housed in schools in Newbury and Thompson, and a Mobile Services fleet that serves rural areas and community centers. Its administrative center is located in Chardon, where technical services, computer services, facilities and administrative functions reside. GCPL houses more than 750,000 books and digital books. The collection also contains more than 100,000 audio/video items. About 400 research databases available via its website.
