Geauga County Public Library is offering an American Sign Language interpreter at four events in November. “A request for ASL interpretation prompted us to research options to create a more inclusive environment for all our patrons, including the hearing impaired,” says GCPL Director Ed Worso.

  • Financial Education Workshop: Two-part Series at Geauga West, 13455 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland,

Two-part workshop designed to help you manage your money.

  • Part 1 on Wednesday, November 14th from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Start thinking about money and money issues in a new way. Topics include communicating about money, tracking your spending, and organizing your bills, files and valuable papers.

  • Part 2 on Wednesday, November 28th from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Focus on the step-by-step process to set up a budget. Discussion will include establishing credit, how to repair your credit, understanding your credit report and strategies to reduce credit card debt.

In addition to ASL interpretation at these events, GCPL also provides a hearing loop at all branches. This system magnetically transmits sound from the PA system to the telecoils in patrons’ hearing aids. This technology allows people who are struggling with hearing loss to enjoy presentations and conversations.

Muffled sounds become crystal clear for people who have had difficulty hearing, even with the help of their hearing aids.
