Kenston Schools are closed for the Winter Break beginning today, Thursday, December 21st. Classes resume for students on Monday, January 3rd.
Kenston High School will host the 53rd Annual Kenston Invitational Wrestling Tournament (KIT) on Friday, December 29th and Saturday, December 30th.
Career Awareness Day
Kenston Middle School is working with the Geauga Growth Partnership Youth Workforce Development Program to help students create an awareness about diverse job/career options and preparation needed to select an educational path required for particular occupations.
On November 30th, half of the 8th grade students attended an all day field trip where they spent time with Mar-Bal Inc., University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, Arborwear, Company 119, Hess Engineering, R43Limited, Tarkett Contract, and Geauga Park District.
On December 8th, the remaining half of the 8th grade class attended an all day field trip with Fairmount Santrol, University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, Raw Iron Choppers LLC, Tarkett, and Highway Garage & Autobody Center.
National Speech & Debate Association Academic All American
The Kenston School District would like to congratulate Savannah Georgian, on earning the National Speech & Debate Association Academic All American award. This distinguished award recognizes students who have completed at least five semesters of high school; earned the degree of Superior Distinction in Honor Society; achieved rigorous criteria for GPA and/or test score requirements; and demonstrated outstanding character and leadership. From more than 141,000 student members of National Speech & Debate Association, fewer than 500 students earn this award each year.
KHS Students of the Month
Congratulations to Kenston High School students of the month for January selected for special recognition. They were freshmen, Adem Bayraktar and Chloe Peiffer; sophomores, Hannah Andrews and Harris Skaramagas; juniors, Anna Rini and Connor Quinlan; and seniors, Ava Bumbu and Matt Cassaro.
