Each season, Geauga Park District’s fine naturalists take a fine-toothed comb to their programs and highlight those that they consider Nature’s Not to Be Missed – that is, opportunities to experience Nature in a way that happens only this particular time of year, so ones that are well worth your time to witness.

Announcing this spring’s selected programming:

April Evening Adventure – Friday, April 6th, 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Eldon Russell Park, Horwath’s Shelter

Herons of Bath Road Van Trip – Saturday, April 7th, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., starting from The West Woods – Registration required

Bald Eagle Hike – Saturday, April 14th, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Headwaters Park, Boathouse

  • Sunday, April 15th, 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m, Burton Wetlands Nature Preserve

Magee Marsh Birding Van Trip – Monday, May 7th, 6:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.. The West Woods – Registration required; fee: $10, $25 out-of-county

Frog Fest “Party Line” Call List – Sometime in May, 8:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., The West Woods – Registration required

Claridon Woodlands Spring Bird Sit – Saturday, May 12th, 6:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., Claridon Woodlands

Bluebird Patrol – Sunday, May 20th, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Frohring Meadows

Solstice Sunset Hike – Thursday, June 21st, 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Observatory Park, Registration required
