Newbury American Legion Post 663 to Host Memorial Day Services Monday, May 29th

The Newbury American Legion Post 663 and its commander Ken Hunter will host Memorial Day Services Monday, May 29th at the Newbury School Auditorium. This indoor program will honor our Veterans past and present. Everyone is welcome to attend this memorial service. Let’s support our current veterans and remember all those who gave their all for the freedoms we enjoy today.

Schedule of events for Newbury Services

8:30 AM……………………. South Newbury Cemetery Services

9:00 AM……………………. Munn Cemetery Services

10:30 AM……………………Indoor Memorial Day Service at Newbury School Auditorium

11:15-11:30 AM……………Parade Formation

11:30 AM……………………Parade to Center Cemetery

12 Noon……………………. Center Cemetery Service

12:30 PM……………………Post Everlasting Service in front of Post

1;00 PM……………………. Disperse and go to Legion Hall for Refreshments

Our Memorial Day Speaker is Jessica Roby Brown. Jessica is a May 2005 graduate of the United State Military Academy at West point. Upon graduating from Norwood Massachusetts High School in 1997 she enlisted in the Massachusetts Army National Guard in a Military Police unit. She decided in 1999 to go to a prep school with the goal of being accepted to West Point. This goal was realized when she was accepted in 2001. After completing her active duty military obligation in 2010 she moved to Cleveland and joined a Psychological Operations Army Reserve unit. With her Military obligation meet in 2014 she found employment as a Purchasing Manager for the Technology House in Streetsboro and lives in Newbury with her husband and 2 step-children.

The Grand Marshal for the parade will be Mr. Dean Eppley. All groups, clubs, etc., are welcome to participate in the parade. Groups with minors must have adult supervision. All veterans are welcome to participate in the program and parade with or without uniform Call Dean Eppley at 564-7111 for parade events.
