Emerging opera stars of all ages are traveling to Fairmount Center for the Arts in Novelty, OH from across the country to perform with extremely gifted local singers this August. Fairmount Center for the Arts, along with The City of Mentor, Lawrence Upper School, and Andrews Osborne Academy are partnering with Resonanz Opera to bring these performances to life in communities in Northeast Ohio.

“In our second season, we’ve had applications from 25 states and we accepted applications from VA, OH, IN, NY, NV, UT, ID, CA, PA, IL, and TN. We quadrupled our enrollment in the Singing Artist Program and tripled our High School Internship attendance. We will have nine high school interns on our stage who will be attending our program this summer from Willoughby South, Riverside, Mentor, Geneva, Lake Catholic, and IStem Early College High School, in addition to two high school singers who are coming from Toledo and Sandusky! Resonanz Opera’s High School Internship Program is the only program in the country that allows high school voices to sing not just in the chorus, but also casts them in smaller roles on the operatic stage alongside professional and emerging professional singers.” – Heidi Skok (Founder and President, Resonanz Opera)

Resonanz Opera will offer a multitude of performances in the community, including at Fairmount Center for the Arts. “We are delighted to partner with this Lake County based non-profit that is bringing extraordinary quality musical performances to Fairmount…we are so excited to have this music in this beautiful space at Fairmount,” says Jeannie Fleming-Gifford, Executive Director at Fairmount Center for the Arts.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors for performances.  Tickets can be purchased at Resonanz Opera. All performances in Mentor will be free. The Season’s full schedule is listed below.

About Resonanz Opera

The Singing Artists Program was established by Resonanz Opera for singers who want to bring their talent to the mainstage. Created by Metropolitan Opera veteran singer Heidi Skok, it is a performance-oriented training program that supports the development of opera singers at all stages of their career. Whether a singer needs technical help with voice, on stage, or is polished artist seeking respite to try a new role in a safe and supportive environment, Resonanz Opera champions your endeavors in a positive, nurturing atmosphere. Talented entry level high school students and emerging professionals study under and perform alongside established main-stage professionals all on one stage together.
