At a recent meeting of the Chardon Kiwanis Club, Paul Stefanko, who was sponsored by Jim Madea, became the newest member of the club.

To become a member of the Chardon Kiwanis Club, the applicant has to agree to support the six objectives of Kiwanis International, which speak of personal betterment through service to one’s community. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. Because of the efforts of new and seasoned members, the club has a full schedule of summer events and activities.

This summer, the club is to take part in the Concerts in the Park, which are held on Fridays in June through August; a food drive, which will be in June; Old Glory Day, which will be on July 4; and the Chardon Community Action Team (CCAT) Car and Motorcycle Show, which will be on August 9.

“It is a wonderful thing when a community member steps up to become a member of the Chardon Kiwanis Club,” said President Mary Bramstedt. “Only with dedicated volunteers is our club able to do so many good things to improve our community.

All individuals are encouraged to attend any meeting or activity of the club to learn more about the Kiwanis mission of service to one’s community. To find out more information about the club, please visit www.kiwanisclubofchardon.org or call 440-537-7316.
