Chagrin Falls High School is proud to present the Tony nominated musical, Seussical the Musical, March 6-9, 2014 at the Performing Arts Center Main Theater on the Chagrin Falls High School campus, 400 East Washington Street.
Based on the beloved stories of Dr. Seuss, Seussical tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to a butter battling military school for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton’s attention to the speck of dust and his “loitering” care of Mayzie LaBird’s egg has elicited taunting and accusations from the rest of the animal kingdom, except for Gertrude McFuzz, who longs for his attention, and JoJo, whose “thinks” save them all in the end.
“We are so excited to bring this show to Chagrin Falls,” says Music Director and Director Youssef Hamid. “Dr. Seuss has been inspiring generations of readers, and Seussical is a whole new way to bring his stories to life. It’s also a terrific way to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ 110th birthday which happens to be March 2.”
Assistant Directors Colleen Williams and Richard Hinkelman, Costume Designer Shannon Wirthwein and Set/Lighting Designer Ben Needham are assisting Mr. Hamid with the production.
Show times are 7 pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 6, 7 and 8, and a 2 pm matinee on Sunday, March 9 with a chance to meet and greet the characters after the show. Reserved tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online.
