SUMMARY:Snowbelt Symphony Orchestra presents “Postcards from Paris”
DESCRIPTION:The Snowbelt Symphony Orchestra\n\nThe Snowbelt Symphony Orchestra presents “Postcards from Paris” Saturday\,October 29 at 7:00pm at New Promise Church in Kirtland. The concert will feature Mozart’s Symphony No. 31 “Paris” and three works by French composers – Maurice Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin\, selections from Jean-Philippe Rameau’s 1735 opera-ballet Les Indes galantes\, and Darius Milhaud’s ballet Le Boeuf sur le toit (The Ox on the Roof). The concert will be conducted by Snowbelt Musical Arts Association founder Greg Hillis. \n\n\nGreg Hillis conducts the Snowbelt Symphony Orchestra\n\n“This program could have just as easily been called Postcards To and From Paris\,” says Greg Hillis\, conductor of the Snowbelt Symphony. “Mozart wrote this symphony while looking for work\, unsuccessfully I might add\, in Paris in 1788. It uses the largest orchestra of any of his symphonies. The two pieces on the second half of the concert were written by Parisian composers\, but with references to places abroad. Each of the four acts of Les Indes galantes takes place in a different exotic place and Le Boeuf sur le toit contains over 20 Brazilian tunes that Milhaud heard while he was an attaché to the French ambassador there. The audience will leave feeling like they’ve been to Carnaval in Rio!” \nTickets for the Postcards from Paris concert are $30 for adults\, $25 for seniors\, and $8 for students. Tickets can be purchased online at www.snowbeltmusical.org. New Promise Church is located at 8671 Euclid Chardon Rd (Rt 6) in Kirtland. The church is ADA accessible with free parking onsite. \nThe Snowbelt Symphony Orchestra is a new fully-professional orchestra that will bring high quality live classical music performances to Lake and Geauga counties. The orchestra made its debut on March 12 of this year. The orchestra has additional concerts scheduled in December\, February\, and April. \nFor more information\, please visit www.snowbeltmusical.org. Snowbelt Musical Arts Association can be reached for questions or comments at info@snowbeltmusical.org or 440-296-9610. SMAA can be followed on Facebook\, Instagram\, and Twitter @snowbeltmusical. \n\n

SUMMARY:Art\, Antique and Vintage Goods Market - Reithoffer Gallery at Auburn Corners
DESCRIPTION:Cleveland Art is hosting art\, antique and vintage goods markets on Friday and Saturday November 19 & 20\, 26 & 27\, and December 10 & 11 in the Reithoffer Gallery at Auburn  Corners; unite.   \nThe market will be open to the public each of these weekends Friday\, from 3:00 p.m.  to 8:00 p.m.\, and Saturday\, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  \nDaily admissions will cost $10.00. Appetizers and beverages\, including beer and  wine\, will be served at two of Auburn Corners’ one-of-a-kind\, handmade bars.   \nVendor spaces will cost $125.00 per weekend\, and art market staff will be on the  property to assist vendors before\, during and after each market.  \nThe Reithoffer Gallery was founded by Jason and Debby Wein in 2019. The couple  bought Auburn Corners from the Reithoffer estate a year before\, after the passing of its  previous owner\, Johnathan Reithoffer.   \nFor many years\, Reithoffer owned and operated his own realtor and auctioneer  businesses on the property\, as well as a barbershop. He served his country as a  boilermaker for the United States Navy during World War II\, and he was highly involved  in local politics for the majority if his adult life.   \nReithoffer had an eclectic eye for what many would call junk\, but the talented team of  glassblowers\, welders\, woodworkers and fabricators at Cleveland Art would call  treasures. Many of the items left at Auburn Corners after Reithoffer’s passing have been  repurposed into the property or by Cleveland Art in products the company sells.  \nCleveland Art is led by a passionate team of people who work hard to reclaim\, recycle  and repurpose old material for art\, furniture and lighting fixtures for home\, retail and  service spaces. This same passion has led them to host these three markets\, in hopes  of inspiring others with their vision and supporting local artists.  \nThese markets will be a great way to avoid the hustle and bustle of typical holiday  shopping sprees like Black Friday and an even better way of getting gifts for those we  love while supporting artists in our local community.   \nEmail events@clevelandart.com with any questions. \n\n
