SUMMARY:Local Holiday Gifts at Cleveland Art’s Last Holiday Market of 2022
DESCRIPTION:Cleveland Art is hosting its final 2022 Holiday Market Friday\, 3-8 p.m. and Saturday\, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.\, December 9 & 10 at Reithoffer’s Art\, Spirits and Entertainment in the Auburn Arts District at 17711 Ravenna Rd\, Chagrin Falls\, OH\, where local artisans will sell their products and Cleveland Art\, a company famous for repurposing salvage into functional works of art\, will be featuring new furniture made of historical materials recently recovered from Cleveland’s Terminal Tower. \nDaily admissions cost $10 per person\, giving guests access to a unique\, local shopping experience just in time for the holidays\, as well as a selection of local beverages and charcuteries to enjoy in Auburn’s most eclectic art gallery. Reithoffer’s Art\, Spirits and Entertainment was founded in 2019 by Jason and Debby Wein\, owners of Cleveland Art. The couple bought the property after the passing of its previous owner\, Johnathan Reithoffer\, a prominent character during his life in Auburn\, who also had a keen eye for salvage. \nIn the spirit of Reithoffer’s love of salvage\, nearing 30 years of tradition repurposing materials at Cleveland Art\, Jason and Debby are excited to share this new line of furniture the team has been hard at work building out of historical materials from the Terminal Tower. Elegant bronze trim and molding featuring floral designs\, owls\, gargoyles and other ornate patterns\, have been made into beautiful bars\, tables\, doors\, mirrors and more. “Old is new\, that’s how we do at Cleveland Art\,” said Jason Wein. “The terminal tower is the city’s most iconic building. It was built for the rail station by the Van Sweringen brothers in the 20s at the height of Cleveland’s capitalist grandeur. No expense was spared and the materials were built by some of the best craftsmen of their time.” \nUntil next year\, Cleveland is not hosting anymore Holiday Markets after this\, so interested parties should not miss this opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind\, locally made goods in Auburn’s most eclectic venue. For more information and inquiries\, please\, email events@clevelandart.com\, and follow Cleveland Art and Auburn Arts District on Facebook and Instagram. \n\n

Go behind the scenes of Ohio’s original craft brewery with a public brewery tour. Guests will grab their first taste of our award-winning beer in the Beer Symposium before venturing into the production facility for an up close and personal look at how that wonderful liquid is brewed\, cellared\, and packaged! Our knowledgeable (and super friendly) tour guides will guide you each step of the way with an in-depth look at our history\, brewing processes\, and more. Tours last approximately 60 minutes and include four 5 oz. beer samples and a souvenir pint glass to take home! \n\n\n\nThe Fine Print \nChoose your tour date and time carefully! Payment is non-refundable\, and event date and time is non-transferable. Our tours start promptly at their scheduled time; no exceptions. Guests arriving late are not guaranteed a chance to join their tour. Please allow time to find parking and arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled tour start time. \nPlease be aware that buying out all of the tickets for a public brewery tour does not guarantee it will be a private event for you and your guests. A limited amount of walk-up tickets are available on a first come\, first served basis at the start of every public tour day. Please visit the Beer Symposium to inquire about any open availability. If you are interested in a private tour\, please contact us directly at 216.325.7846 for additional details. \nDon’t forget your ID! Guests must be 21 or older with a valid ID to consume or purchase alcohol. Guests without a valid ID at check-in will not receive beer samples. Four (4) 5 oz. beer samples are given per valid ID; no exceptions. Guests under 21 are welcome on the tour\, but must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21. No guest under 21 will be permitted to consume alcohol; no exceptions. When purchasing tickets\, please select the Under 21/Non-Drinking ticket option for anyone under 21. Children under the age of 5 do not need to purchase a ticket. \nVisitors planning to visit the brewery MUST wear closed-toe shoes (i.e. boots or sneakers; no flip flops or sandals.) This is for your personal safety and the safety of our guests. \nOur brewery is housed in a 19th century building with narrow spaces and multiple stairwells. Be aware that breweries are hot and loud\, especially in packaging areas and during the summer months. \nLooking to visit the brewpub before or after your tour? Please see the host stand before your tour for seating policies\, or make a reservation by visiting us online at https://www.greatlakesbrewing.com/brewpub. Tour attendance does not guarantee reservations in our brewpub. \nTour availability is subject to change. Details and offerings subject to change without notice. \nQuestions? SUMMARY:The Case of the Missing Will
DESCRIPTION:In 1870\, Illinois resident James Taylor was born in Ohio—but where and to whom? There is no will\, probate\, death record\, or obituary associated with James that documents his ancestry. Using this scenario as a case study\, genealogist presenter Shelley Bishop will illustrate how indirect evidence drawn from research in a variety of sources\, can be analyzed and correlated to identify missing information\, such as who James’ parents were and the location of his birth. \nOur presenter will start her presentation at 7:00PM\, and following Q&A\, the GCGS Membership meeting will be held. \nJoin In-Person at the Geauga Library – Chardon Branch or on Zoom for this educational and interesting way to research your family history and ancestors. \nWe hope you’ll join us. \n\n
