DESCRIPTION:Blackbrook Audubon invites birders of all skill levels on a field trip to Geauga County farm country Saturday\, February 19. This will be during the weekend of the Great Backyard Bird Count so we’ll refer to it as the Geauga Farm Fields Count. We’ll meet at Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve\, 11620 Ravenna Rd. Munson Twp.\, about 2 miles south of Chardon Square at 8:30 a.m. Pull into the parking lot right on Ravenna Road\, or 44 South. It’s labeled Best Wildlife Preserve\, but is north of the actual park entrance. We’ll provide a rough map of our route when we meet at the Best Preserve lot on Rt. 44. \nOur first destination will be the Amish farm fields on Hayes Road\, just east of Middlefield. We’ll make a pit stop at Swine Creek Reservation and head down to more fields on Soltis Road south of Parkman. In these open spaces\, we hope to find Snow Buntings\, Lapland Longspurs and Horned Larks foraging on the ground with Rough-legged Hawks\, Northern Harriers and American Kestrels overhead. We may even spot Common Redpolls or the Snowy Owl reported on Hayes Road earlier this month. \nPlease RSVP blackbrookaud@aol.com so our leader\, Deb Schuster\, knows how many people are coming. \nBlackbrook Audubon covers Ashtabula\, Geauga and Lake Counties as the local chapter of National Audubon Society. DESCRIPTION:Come and spend some time snuggling goats and pigs of all ages and sizes on the Farm!  It will be a Goat-tastic time!\n\n\nCome out to the farm and awaken your inner “kid!” \nWant some animal hugs? Not a fan of the whole Goat yoga craze but still love animals?  This is an educational and therapeutic opportunity on the farm!  \nWe will be introducing the goats and piglets where they can be cuddled\, fed treats\, and maybe even a bottle!  Kids of all ages love our Snuggle Sessions.  Learn about the animals purpose on the farm and interact with our friendly group! Sit and cuddle the animals with no expectation! \nThis year\, Snuggle Sessions aren’t completely private but there are spots for 10-20 people in each group.  You will be in a smaller group and we will have separate stations set up so that groups can be separated as needed for social distancing purposes.   \nIN COMPLIANCE WITH OHIO MANDATORY GUIDELINES: \n-PARTICIPANTS DISPLAYING COVID SYMPTOMS WILL BE DECLINED TO ENTER \n-MANDATORY USE OF TEMP MONITORING AND HAND SANITIZER UPON ENTERING AND EXITING \n-MASKING MANDATORY ! \n-NO OTHER VISITORS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY OTHER THAN PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS \nAdmission is $25 per person\, unless you have a child under 2 in your arms! DESCRIPTION:Cleveland Art is hosting a Valentine’s Day art market following the success of their holiday markets in the Reithoffer Gallery at Auburn Corners; 17711 Ravenna Rd\, Chagrin Falls\, OH 44023. \nThe gallery will be open to the public Friday\, February 11 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday\, February 12 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. \nDaily admissions will cost $10.00 and\, like the previous markets\, include appetizers and beverages\, including beer and wine. \nVendor spaces will cost $150.00\, and art market staff will be on the property to assist vendors before\, during and after the event. \nWith an average attendance of over 300 people each weekend during the holiday markets\, Cleveland Art and the team at AAD are confident local shopping opportunities like this one are in high demand\, and that art markets in the Reithoffer gallery will continue to be an enriching experience for guests and vendors alike. \n“Taking part in the past Reithoffer art show was such an amazing experience\,” said returning artist\, Pamela Bennet. “I met so many great people\, all of whom were encouraging to each other. I can’t wait for the Valentine’s Day show.” \nAttendees of the previous markets will see faces both familiar and new at this upcoming event\, with some vendors returning\, and some participating for the first time. \n“I saw your post and knew I needed to apply\,” said Laura Allison\, who discovered the event on Instagram. “I’m a new jewelry artist\, specifically making hypoallergenic earrings. My pieces are simple and unique with a pop of color. I use both silver and gold\, and I also do custom work. I look forward to participating in this event.” \nThis Valentine’s Day market will be a great opportunity to get something special for your someone special.
