DESCRIPTION:The Fabulous 50’s + 60’s Fundraiser! 2019\, the UMC annual fundraiser will be held Saturday\, March 23rd from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.\, at the Huntsburg Community Center. The event will feature live performances from the band Downtown; a silent and live auction as well as hors d’oeuvres\, dinner and dessert catered by Chow Down. \n“Fabulous 50’s + 60’s Fundraiser!” is the event of the year—a thoroughly fun and entertaining fundraiser that helps us keep our community outreach right here in eastern Geauga county. The dinner and auction begins at 5:30 p.m. with the Silent Auction\, where guests can bid on items donated by businesses and friends of the UMC. \nThere are over 30 Silent Auction items this year\, you don’t want to miss these unique items. Bidding on the Silent Auction closes at 7:15 p.m. followed by the LIVE Auction. The talented local band\, Downtown\, plays traditional and pop standards including songs from the 50’s\, 60’s and 70’s\, a little bit of country plus a polka or two.  They play for a variety of occasions from just dinner music to clambakes and dances.  Fronted by Garey Watson\, the band features Garey on trumpet\, flugelhorn and vocals; Dave Thomas on keyboard and vocals\, Andy Holloman on tenor sax and vocals\, Carol Holloman on vocals\, Katie Thomas on bass guitar\, and Andy Kenen on drums. \nUnited Methodist Church is impacting our local community in several ways each and every day. The church’s food pantry offers help to 25-35 families a week. The thrift store operated by the United Methodist Women raised over $6\,000 that was given back to the community for a variety of good causes. The Pastor’s Discretionary Fund gave over $4\,700 to help needy individuals with a wide variety of needs. Many community groups supported currently using our facilities including the Scouts\, AA\, NAMI\, Red Cross\, Geauga Immunization Clinic\, Project Hoffnung- Mennonite Mammovan. \nThe funds raised will be used to complete the purchase of the UMC land and make improvement to the property located on State Route 608 North of Middlefield. \nDinner tickets are $35 each\, for more information\, and to purchase tickets\, visit  Fabulous 50’s & 60″s Dinner or call 440-812-5892.
