SUMMARY:Blackbrook Audubon Ambles to Acacia Reservation on September 30
DESCRIPTION:Blackbrook Audubon invites birders of all levels to join us on this inaugural visit to one of Cleveland Metroparks newer sites\, Acacia Reservation. Blackbrook will meet at the kiosk by the parking lot at 8:00 a.m. \nOnce a golf course\, this park has been transformed and continues to experience habitat upgrades. The west branch of Euclid Creek now takes a more meandering path through the park. Fall wildflowers should still be in bloom hosting many pollinators. One bird species participants will keep an eye out for is the Red-headed Woodpecker\, which is seen year-round at Acacia. Birders will search for fall migrants as well in this 155-acre oasis across the street from Beachwood Mall. \nTrails are paved and restrooms are available. For more information\, email blackbrookaud@aol.com or visit Blackbrook Audubon Society. Follow Blackbrook Audubon Society on Facebook.

SUMMARY:Solar Application for Home and Farm
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will give farmers and homeowners ideas and knowledge applicable to energy-demanding tasks. Need to light a shed? Power a remote water pump? Open a door on a hot greenhouse? Automatically turn on a fan to cool the garage? Or how about installing (or having a professional install!) an array large enough to power your entire home or farm? Al these will be discussed conceptually and practically in this workshop sponsored by the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association’s Lake Effect Chapter. \nIncluded will be a hands-on experience wiring up solar panels to help learn electricity fundamentals\, empowering attendees to tackle a do-it-yourself solar project; or at least to help them converse intelligently with a solar installer.

SUMMARY:Pawpaws A to Z: A Unique Tropic Tree

According to organizers\, George Washington’s favorite dessert was chilled pawpaw. \nThis free program is open to all. Blackbrook Audubon covers Lake\, Geauga and Ashtabula counties as the local chapter of National Audubon Society. For more information\, visit Blackbrook Audubon Society.
