This year, when you think of Geauga Park District, we want you to think about you.
We want you to feel closer to understanding your connection with Nature and acknowledging the bounty you allow yourself to enjoy through your continued support.
We also want you to Connect with the parks. And as an incentive, we’re trying a new spin on promotions that, we hope, will get you as excited as we are about 2015.
Each month in 2015 will have a theme connecting you with all the great things about your Geauga Park District. Look for the Connect logo in the Voices of Nature newsletter, or search for Connect programs on the Geauga Park District website to see what we have planned this winter, with lots of new opportunities to be introduced each season.
Kicking it off are January’s Connect with Community-themed programs, which all include food drives to help restock Geauga Hunger Task Force after the holidays. Bring nonperishable food items to feel the connection!
Then get more details about February’s Connect with Winter and March’s Connect with Tradition themes from the newsletter or on the website.
If programs aren’t your cup of hot chocolate, consider how each “Connect” theme applies to your idea of fun or relaxation. Maybe it’s campfires and s’mores, snowshoes, sledding, snowmen and snowball fights. Maybe you’re a little adventurous and it’s ice fishing and winter camping. Maybe it’s simply feeding the birds.
Or maybe you like taking pictures — in which case, we’re excited to debut our Connect Winter Photo Contest, where the prize is a free pint of real maple syrup, plus lots of attention on our social media!
This season we’re looking for your pictures taken in Geauga Park District that feature Community, Winter or Tradition — and yes, selfies are welcome. Post your photos to our Facebook page, Twitter or Instagram (@GeaugaParks) using #gpdwinter.
Submissions will be added to our Facebook page March 24, and the two that receive the most “likes” by the last day of the month win!

Connect with how good you’ll feel inside once you’re outside doing something they love!
We’re ready for 2015…are you?
