So, what is your dog doing this spring? How about joining you for a Geauga Park District Hound Hike?
This season’s dog-centric walks in the park are scheduled for Thursday, May 18th, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bessie Benner Metzenbaum Park in Chesterland, and Sunday, June 25th, 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Swine Creek Reservation in Middlefield.
Field Naturalist Tami Gingrich said she also plans to bring her pup along to lead the Swine Creek hike.
“I see more things just by keying in on my animals than I normally would,” she said. “If people paid attention to their dogs when walking, they would see more, too – just one of the things I’m going to teach, a way to foster more of a relationship with your pooch!”
Registration is required for Hound Hikes at Geauga Park District or 440-286-9516. One non-aggressive, leashed (8 ft. max) dog is permitted per handler, who must be able to control his or her dog at all times. Please bring your own towels, water bowl and scoop/bags for clean-up.
No bones about it – a good time will be had by all!
