Event Series Event Series: JOURNALING THE GREAT OUTDOORS

JOURNALING THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Oct 25, 2021 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Learn to slow down and observe Nature through keeping a mindful log

Nature lovers, learn how to record your Nature observations by attending Geauga Park District’s monthly-Mondays Nature Journaling sessions!

A one-time fee of $20 for Geauga residents ($24 for out-of-county residents) is required to purchase a journal, pen and pencil for use during the series and beyond. Registration is always required by phone, for the purpose of identifying first-timers, at 440-286-9516.

Next up in the series are sessions focusing on mammals of the marsh on October 25, the night sky on November 22, and evergreen plants and trees on December 20. All three are partially outdoors and have two sessions each day: either 9:30 a.m. to noon or 1:30 to 4 p.m.

Naturalist Renell Roebuck, who hosts the program, started Nature journaling about four years ago to combine her curiosity of the natural world with art.

“I choose topics that I am interested in broadening my knowledge in so that I can pass along my curiosity to my participants,” she said. “In return, they ask questions and share their own experiences with the class. You don’t need to be an artist to Nature journal, you just have to want to slow down and make your Nature observations intentional – literally take time to smell the roses or see what visits them. Beginners are welcome at any time!”
