SUMMARY:GANG February 2020: Field Trip to the Artisans’ Corner Gallery in Newbury!
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, February 18th\, the Geauga Arts Network Group (GANG) program will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Artisans’ Corner Gallery\, 11110 Kinsman Road in Newbury. \nDirector Monica Glasscock will provide a guided tour of this elegant gallery\, which\, incidentally\, includes works by several artists who have been GANG members and/or featured artists over the past 16 years. Monica will remain on hand to greet attendees and answer questions. The gallery is an integral part of the cultural life of Geauga County\, and definitely a must-see\, with exhibits that are continually refreshed with the work of new artists. \nThis educational GANG program is free and open to the public\, and will be the perfect opportunity to become acquainted with artists and art lovers from Geauga County and beyond. SUMMARY:Tom Zubek Art: Railroad Spikes\, Leather\, Wood\, and Spider Webs
DESCRIPTION: Zubek’s art work includes sculptural pieces incorporating railroad spikes which have leather and wood pieces with forms and patterns burned into them using an electrically heated pencil; and works incorporating real spider webs. He is also an expert on the airplane nose art that was used to decorate and sometimes convey messages on World War II aircraft. An active pilot\, who has owned a number of airplanes over the years\, he is a flying enthusiast whose childhood interest in model airplanes generated a lifelong passion for aviation. \nClick here for more event information. \n
