Rooted In Trees

A Unique Outdoor Celebration of Trees

One of the most effective, powerful ways we can greatly improve our communities is by the simple act of planting trees.  Join Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District, the Geauga Park District, and the newly founded, Chardon-based Rooted in Trees organization for this unique collaboration and outdoor celebration of trees!  Take part in this free family-friendly tree planting event at Orchard Hills Park in Chesterland on Tuesday, October 6 from 10 am – noon.  Participants will learn how to properly plant a tree with local resource professionals, see hands-on demonstrations include staking, proper mulching, and deer guard installation, and take home a free tree seedling donated by Bartlett Tree Experts!  Together we can leave a legacy and help regrow Northeast Ohio’s tree canopy… starting in our own backyard.

Registration is required by Monday, October 5th for all participants.  Be sure to dress for the outdoors and please bring a mask and practice social distancing.  Rain date is October 7th.  To register visit or for more information contact or 440-834-1122. This program is part of the 2020 Lake Erie Starts Here: Stormwater, Phase 2, and You education series.
