Can you imagine a summer without seeing a single flash from a firefly? Scientists across the country have observed a decline in the firefly population and need our help to figure out why – and here’s your chance to step up!

All are welcome to attend the Firefly Watch – Before It’s Too Late! on Saturday, June 13 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. at Observatory Park, Cygnus Shelter, 10610 Clay Street, Montville Twp.

Any time during program hours, please drop in to participate in citizen science: a project to find the reason for the decline in fireflies. Also, take time to learn all about this amazing bioluminescent insect of our youth.

This is a Nature’s Not to Be Missed program, and June is “Connect with Activity” month at Geauga Park District – will you make this program one of your summertime connections?
