Sled With Friends

Patched after a muddy first year, Orchard Hills’ sled hill is back in business!

It’s the fourth year for Geauga Park District’s annual excuse to get down – a sled hill, that is.

sled riding

Don’t let those sleds stay packed away all winter. Grab the gang for a fun afternoon of sledding and other snow activities in the park, not to mention a toasty lodge, warm outdoor fire, and breathtaking view from the top of the hill.

What: Sledding and Snowflakes

When: Sunday, January 13 – 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Where: Orchard Hills Park, Parking Lot Lodge and Sledding Hill,
11340 Caves Road, Chesterland

In addition to sledding, see if you can throw a snow snake down a trail the farthest. “A snow snake?” you ask. Yes – a stick carved with curved ends which resembles a snake in the snow!

And did we mention there will be free refreshmentsin the form of hot chocolate and snacks?

Participants must bring their own sleds and register ahead of time online or by calling 440-286-9516. Call that number, too, to see if the weather is cooperating; this free, all-ages program is dependent upon snow, after all.

Geauga Park District is online, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
