Two Saturdays in January will make sure your weekends are full of winter fun if you register to join us for a couple great programs at Geauga Park District!
First, try outdoor activities such as snowshoeing, bring your sled for a ride, learn about winter wildlife, and enjoy winter crafts and games, and cozy up near the fire with warm drinks at Sledding & Snowflakes on Saturday, January 7th, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Orchard Hills Park.
Then, learn the basics of snowshoeing, including proper clothing, types of equipment and proper technique, at Learn to Snowshoe on Saturday, January 14th, 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. at Big Creek Park. An indoor presentation will be followed by outdoor instruction. We provide snowshoes or bring your own! Ages 8+ w/adult only, please.
“Come out and play in the snow with us!” said Chief Naturalist John Kolar. “If you’ve never tried it, now is the time. Snowshoeing is great exercise and really helps you get around in the slippery ice and snow. No experience necessary!”
Registration is required for both of these programs at Geauga Park District or 440-286-9516, which you may also call with questions.
Psst…! Did you know snowshoe borrowing is also FREE every day at The West Woods Nature Center? Learn more about that, our sledding hills, our Bird in the Hand Feeding Station and more on our website under What’s New.
