DESCRIPTION:Hike Beartown Lakes Reservation with your hound…in costume! \nDevil or angel\, pumpkin or scarecrow\, human or canine\, come enjoy this hike with your favorite four-legged friend. \nNature lovers and good-natured dogs always look forward to Geauga Park District’s last Hound Hike of the season. Needless to say\, costumes (dogs or human) make it all the more fun! \n \nWhat: Howl’oween Hound Hike \nWhen: Sunday\, October 26 – 2 to 3:30 p.m. \nWhere: Beartown Lakes Reservation\n18870 Quinn Road\, Auburn Township \nFrom April through October\, monthly Hound Hikes allow dog owners young and old an opportunity to bond and enjoy a type of entertainment their canines can also enjoy. Registration is always required to keep numbers manageable online or 440-286-9516. \nOne non-aggressive dog is allowed per handler\, who must be able to fully control his or her dog at all times on a leash no longer than eight feet. Participants must also bring their own dog towels\, water bowls\, poop scoops and bags for clean-up. If altercations or incidents occur\, problematic dogs will be asked to leave. Activities will not be wheelchair / stroller accessible. \nAgain\, registration is required for this free outdoor program\, great for all ages and all breeds of dog at the website or 440-286-9516. \nGeauga Park District is online\, Facebook\, Twitter and YouTube.

SUMMARY:Walktober Hikes
DESCRIPTION:This October\, let cooler temperatures\, reds\, oranges\, yellows and browns help you unwind during a one-hour walk in a different park each week. Geauga Park District’s Walktober After-Work Hikes will be held Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.: October 2 at Swine Creek Reservation (Woods Edge)\, October 9 at Headwaters Park (Route 322 Parking Area)\, October 16 at Beartown Lakes Reservation (North Point)\, October 23 at Orchard Hills Park\, and October 30 at Frohring Meadows. \nVarious park staff picked their favorite trails to show you as you join them for these walks. Registration is not required\, but do dress for the weather; walks are only canceled for high winds and/or electrical storms. If you think a walk may be canceled due to weather\, just call 440-286-9516 and choose 0 to check.
