SUMMARY:Rib Burn Off
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the taste of summer at a Rib Burn Off on the grounds of Century Village Museum May 24 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm and May 25 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Bring YOUR party to OUR party! \nThis first-ever event will feature live music plus local crafters\, pony rides\, hobby train rides\, and children’s games. The Geauga County Sheriff’s K-9 unit also will be on hand throughout the weekend to present demonstrations. On Sunday\, Emeth Gymnastics will be performing a demonstration. \nAdmission is free for the Rib Burn Off\, which will present offerings from Blazin Bill’s\, Warren’s Eli’s BBQ\, Dickey’s BBQ and Old Carolina BBQ from Mentor\, and Stewart’s Smokin BBQ from Kirtland. The public will choose the “People’s Choice Award” by casting votes at the People’s Choice Award table by putting a penny per vote into specified jars for each vendor. \nTrophies sponsored by Great Lakes Outdoor Supply in Middlefield will be presented to the first- and second-place winners for best ribs and sauce. \nThe winners will be chosen by a panel of VIP judges\, including Chardon Municipal Court Judge Terri Stupica\, Geauga County Sheriff Dan McClelland\, Burton Mayor Nick Fischbach\, Juvenile/Probate Judge Timothy Grendell\, Appellate Judge Diane Grendell\, Tracy Jemison\, Common Pleas Court Judge Burt \,and former Browns player Ernie Kellermann. \nSample ribs and full meals\, including ribs and side dishes\, will be available for purchase from the rib vendors\, along with pulled pork\, and brisket sandwiches. Hot dogs and chicken nuggets will be sold from the Historical Society’s Fritter Booth. A beer tent also will be open for business. \nThroughout the weekend\, enjoy live music under the tent from Fletch and the Catch\, The Geauga Highlanders\, and The Ted Riser Band on Saturday\, with 2Guys12Strings and Blue Lunch on Sunday. This live music is presented through the generous support of Preston Superstore. \nThe Rib Burn Off games are sponsored by Geauga Savings Bank and Giant Eagle. \nJoin us for a fun filled weekend of delicious food close to home!
