SUMMARY:3rd Annual Zucchini Festival
DESCRIPTION:The 3rd annual Zucchini Festival 2014 presented by the Emerald Rose Corp. will be held August 16 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and August 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free and open to the public\, it will be located on Chardon Square\, Chardon\, Ohio. \nThere are a variety of activities suited to the entire family: games\, crafters\, raffle\, food vendors\, pancake breakfast. To honor the versatile zucchini\, there will be a zucchini cook-off and growing and decorating contests as well as the 1st Annual Zucchini Idol Talent contest Saturday afternoon! Auditions for the Zucchini Idol contest will be held Saturday\, August 9\, in the Chardon Library from noon to 4:30 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee. \nProceeds from this event go to benefit the capital campaign for the Emerald Fields of Troy\, a planned $4 million facility serving people impaired with mental disorders – depression\, schizophrenia\, bipolar disorder\, obsessive-compulsive disorder\, pain disorders\, post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorders. \nFor a schedule of events and contest information or to become a vendor\, click here or contact Joy Black (joy@emeraldrose.org/440-376-5097).
