SUMMARY:Nature in Music: A Little Night Music
DESCRIPTION:Observatory Park hosts first “guided listening” experience\nExperience “guided listening” for the first time with Geauga Park District\, or try it again in the planetarium of the Robert McCullough Science Center at Observatory Park and hear the music you love in a whole new light – literally. \nNaturalist Linda Gilbert earned her master’s degree in music from Cleveland State University and will be your host this evening\, playing recordings of classical music beneath the projected stars of the planetarium and explaining how aspects of the music portray some extramusical scene\, bird\, or image of the night. \n“Guided listening is a technique that one of my music professors used for teaching a little bit about the history of the music\, what to listen for in the music\, how to listen for it\, and pointing these things out as they occur\,” Linda said. “Our list of composers for Nature in Music will include Mendelssohn\, Schubert\, Mozart\, Zelter and Mussorgsky.” \nThis program is geared toward adults; facilities are wheelchair/stroller accessible. Registration is not required. Call 440-286-9516 with questions. \nGeauga Park District is online\, Facebook\, Twitter and YouTube.
