Join in at any time without registration. You may also bring your own net\, if you’d rather. We recommend wearing sun protection\, socks\, hats and long pants for moving through the meadow. \n  \nPlus\, should you catch a Monarch\, a naturalist will be on hand to tag and release it. SUMMARY:Winter Fun Day
DESCRIPTION:Have a blast in the snow with snowshoes\, sleds\, crafts\, games and more\nWhen it’s below freezing and there’s a foot of snow on the ground\, it’s hard to think about the “joys of winter.” But there are many things about winter that make it all worthwhile\, and here’s one way to celebrate a bunch at once. \nWhat: Winter Fun Day \nWhen: Sunday\, January 26 – 1 to 4 p.m. \nWhere: Orchard Hills Park\n11340 Caves Road\, Chesterland \nHot cocoa\, family time on a sled\, catching snowflakes\, getting exercise on skis and enjoying the crisp air by an outdoor fire are all things you can do in one day at Orchard Hills Park. \nThe duration of this program will host sledding\, snowshoe sampling and winter games\, activities\, crafts and wildlife. Participants can also learn to ski from noon to 2 p.m.\, and from 3 to 4 p.m. take in a winter safety presentation by the Ohio Division of Natural Resources’ Division of Wildlife and U.S. Coast Guard that will include ice safety\, rescue equipment\, tips on emergency assistance and self rescue. \nVolunteers will have a cozy fire going and warm drinks and refreshments the whole time for guests’ enjoyment. \nRegistration is not required for this program\, which will be partially wheelchair/stroller accessible. Activities will utilize both the main Orchard Hills Lodge and the shelter at the base of the sledding hill.
