SUMMARY:Punderson Classic Cruise-In
DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Punderson are bringing back the car shows at Punderson State Park! These are being held in an effort to raise approximately $35\,000 for a new beach area parking lot playground. The existing playground set is solid\, however it is outdated and doesn’t offer a lot of play for little ones. We will be looking to help fund a modern\, more versatile playground set to be installed in its place. \nIf you would like to participate in this event please fill out this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfc0ITjNYCJ4IDL5qnPB6aHWWGJGuSifd80LvtBJaKXRRq3zg/viewform \nOur first event will be a “Classic Cruise-In” at the Sports Chalet parking lot on Thursday\, May 18th at 6:00 p.m. This is a FREE event and refreshments will be offered by the Friends of Punderson to help raise donations for this project. As this first event is to create interest and get more people involved\, we plan to move these events to the Beach Parking Lot. \nRefreshments will be available from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Vehicles for show may arrive as early as 5:30 p.m. to start filling the lot – we would love to see any classics cars\, trucks\, motorcycles and any other interesting vehicles for spectators! Because this lot is small\, please DO NOT reserve spaces for chairs or friends – we are using this lot to start because we will have the Sports Chalet available where you can come in and sit\, get a bite to eat and use the restrooms.

SUMMARY:2014 Hyperflite Skyhoundz Canine Disc Championships
DESCRIPTION:The largest disc-dog competition series in the world is coming to Newbury\, OH thanks to the Friends of Punderson! This Local Championship for the 2014 Hyperflite Skyhoundz Canine Disc Championships will be held on June 21 in coordination with the Pet Camp Out Weekend at Punderson State Park\, 11755 Kinsman Road in Newbury\, Ohio\, where athletic canines can be seen\, literally\, jumping for joy. There is no entry fee for competitors and admission is free for all spectators. Novice and veteran competitors alike are encouraged to compete. All competitors will receive a free official Hyperflite K-10 Competition Standard flying disc\, and the top three teams will receive awards. \nContestants and their canine teammates will earn points for basic throws and catches\, with bonus points for mid-air catches in the Distance/Accuracy event. The event welcomes mixed-breed as well as purebred dogs. Many of the canines expected to compete were rescued from local animal shelters.
