SUMMARY:HomeGrown Geauga
DESCRIPTION:This signature event helps Geauga Growth Partnership (GGP) reach its initiative of “Preparing Tomorrow’s Workforce Today” by providing GGP internship and career education development programs for our local high school students. \nIf it’s HomeGrown – it’s probably here! \n \nA Geauga County farmer’s market\, open to the community from 6 pm – 7 pm will feature Geauga produce and more from purveyors such as Sirna’s Farm and Market\, Morning Song Gardens\, RAD Foods\, The Agrarian Collective\, and many others. \nAt the center of our special culinary experience is chef Kimberly McCune Gibson\, from Hungry Bee\, LLC in Bainbridge (pictured above). Chef Kimberly is a “HomeGrown” Kenston High School graduate from the Auburn Career Center Culinary Program who later advanced to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park\, New York. \nChef Kimberly McCune Gibson’s roots are planted deeply in the memory of her Geauga County childhood. Daughter of a beekeeper\, McCune Gibson witnessed firsthand the interdependence of the land and it’s people when she visited the Amish farmers who leased beehives for orchard pollination. After filming a weight loss series for The Food Network\, Kimberly began representing First Lady Obama’s “Let’s Move” Initiative by serving as an ambassador for the “Chef’s Move into Schools” program. \nChef McCune will be joined by local chefs including Adams Reserve™ cheddar aficionado Jonathan Bennett\, the executive chef of Moxie & Red restaurants\, and Kelly Hanley Potts from the Agrarian Collective\, among others\, who will create exquisite hors d’oeuvres for those in attendance. \nA grand buffet created by Chef Kimberly McCune-Gibson of Hungry Bee Catering\, will showcase the products and produce of our agricultural community (with support from the Geauga County Farm Bureau). \nMusic and Entertainment: This fun-filled event will provide a host of activities and local entertainment will be available for benefit-goers. Photo souvenirs\, caricature artists\, tarot cards\, a performance by Geauga’s own Jasmine Dragons acrobatic aerial team\, plus live music are just a few of the unique distractions. Music is provided by The Little Ole Me’s\, No Moss\, and Switch. \nAuction: Gala includes a live auction of unique packages that include: golf outings\, chef dinner\, Hilton Head condominium\, landscaping package and more. \nTickets: General admission $100 per person. VIP Tickets $125 per person. Advanced tickets required. Attendance is limited so don’t delay! Wrist bands will be checked at the door. \nTickets can be purchased through Eventbrite or by calling 440-564-1060. \nAn exclusive VIP lounge will be open to VIP guests starting at 6 pm. Ticket price includes exclusive hors d ‘oeuvres and private\, full bar. \nThank you to our sponsors Great Lakes Cheese\, Geauga County Farm Bureau\, Hungry Bee\, Middlefield Cheese\, and University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center \nFor more information on sponsorship or the event in general\, please contact info@geaugagrowth.com \nIt’s an event you’ll not want to miss! \nSaturday\, September 13\, 2014\n6:00 pm-11:00 pm\nThe Federated Church Family Life Center\n 16349 Chillicothe Road\n Bainbridge\, OH 44023 \nGeauga Growth Partnership\, Inc. is a business-led organization dedicated to the retention\, growth and attraction of jobs\, investment and economic growth in Geauga County.
