DESCRIPTION:According to historic accounts\, this rookery has existed for at least 70 years in its present location. The backcountry hike includes a short introduction to the Blue Heron\, acquainting you with this species’ habitat and food using pictures and props\, then a 1 1/2-to-2-mile hike to visit the nesting site. \nYou’ll be amazed that these big stick nests manage to stay up there\, way up on the top little branches of the trees! \nAnd please remember that registration is required for both programs online or by calling 440-286-9516. \nGeauga Park District is online\, Facebook\, Twitter and YouTube.
