DESCRIPTION:23rd annual event introduces new vendors\, Writing Contest winners \nSomething for everybody – for any nature lover\, for any art lover. Geauga Park District’s Nature Arts Festival is known for every variety of fine arts on display and for sale by regional artists. Every member of the family\, every friend leaves refreshed and inspired in some way. \nCome out to Geauga County for the 23rd annual Nature Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday\, August 2 and 3\, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The West Woods. \nThis popular\, free\, indoor/outdoor festival features an entirely nature-focused juried art show; for-sale art by regional and national woodcarvers\, painters\, potters\, jewelry-makers and other artisans at a variety of price ranges; food for sale by The Reserve House; ice cream and nuts by Nick Reiter; and kettle corn by Look What’s Poppin’; all-day entertainment by the Western Reserve Artist Blacksmith Association; and free parking. Visit the  for a complete schedule of events. \n“We’re looking forward to celebrating an Arts in Nature weekend\,” said Holly Sauder\, event coordinator\, “featuring for the first time this year some of Geauga Park District’s own groups and clubs affiliated with the arts.” \nThis year’s event will not have People’s Choice voting. However\, more than 10 new vendors will show a variety of mediums. \nSaturday will feature live music from some of Geauga Park District’s Maple Town Tune Traders. Sunday will feature the event to celebrate the 19th annual Nature Writing Contest winners\, featuring readings of their award-winning works\, explanations from judges\, and an opportunity to read your own Nature writing for an audience. Visit the  to see a complete list of those winners. \nGeauga Park District’s Shutterbugs Camera Club will also be featured as President Bruce Bennett presents on honing nature photography talents. \nVisitors totaled more than 2\,000 last year despite morning rain and heat. \nGeauga Park District is grateful to Fairmount Center for the Arts on Saturday for sponsoring afternoon art and craft activities for the kids and young at heart! \nThis year’s Nature Arts Festival is sponsored by The News-Herald\, Geauga Park District Foundation \,and Renewal by Andersen Windows. \nThe West Woods\, a 900-acre park with miles of hiking trails\, is at 9465 Kinsman Road (Rt. 87). The festival is entirely wheelchair/stroller accessible.
