Geauga Growth Partnership is hosting an exciting, high-energy event, designed to connect Geauga students with Geauga businesses. This year Geauga Growth Partnership is featuring among other guests, Mr. Jesse Srpan, owner and president of Raw Iron Choppers, who has built a business around what he loves.
Not yet 30 years old, this Geauga County native has a thriving business building custom motorcycles, while working as a welding instructor for Lakeland Community College. He knew by the time he was 13 that he loved welding and building bikes, and with his father’s encouragement and support, built his skills sets around these passions. He developed his own shop in Newbury Township.
“I am more than happy to be part of “Ignite Your Career,” says Jesse Srpan. “For me, it’s all about paying it forward and motivating others.”
Consequently, when Mr. Srpan was only 23, he was approached by Discovery Channel to participate in a custom motorcycle-building competition. He was the 2014 winner of Discovery Channel’s #Bikerlive (Rust belt episode-ohio).
Jesse Srpan is one of a few presenters who are on tap to Ignite a career flame for Geauga County’s upcoming workforce, during GGP’s . . .

GGP’s Ignite Your Career event is just one of a series of opportunities provided by Geauga Growth Partnership to “prepare tomorrow’s workforce today.” GGP’s Youth Workforce Development (YWD) training programs lead students in cumulative growth through an educational continuum that consists of day-long workshops offered to 8th graders, sophomores, juniors and seniors in High School, culminating with opportunities to participate in real-world work experiences through paid summer Internships in the GGP High School Internship Program. The individual components of the YWD Program are Career Awareness Events, Career Readiness Training, the Internship Program, and the “Ignite Your Career” event, and are offered to all Geauga County schools.
