Ketchup is a must have for any kitchen, especially in the summer time. And it has so many uses! You can pair it with almost any meat, you can put it on your eggs, use it in recipes. But what if we told you that your favorite condiment could be used for more than just eating? Here are some of the best uses for ketchup outside of the kitchen, according to Lifehack UK.

1.     Shines Up Silver, Copper, and Your Car

The vinegar in ketchup means that it’s about 4% acetic acid, which makes it a really good cleaning product. And thanks to its consistency, it’s perfect for actively shining up those things. What it’s also good for shining up your car and car parts. Just make sure that you wash your car before you go slather it with ketchup.

2.     Turn Ketchup Packets into Ice Packs

You know those ketchup packets that always come by the dozens in the bottom of your McBurger bag? There’s a use for them now. If you plop them in the freezer, they make for great mini ice packs. Their smaller size makes them great for small bumps and bruises, or any injury that needs more localized attention.

3.     Fake Blood

Okay, so ketchup won’t give you that million dollar movie horror star look at any costume party that you attend. It is the absolute least realistic thing that you can use. But it is all natural, easy to apply and doesn’t stain clothes. And there are ways to make it look more realistic if you do enough research.

4.     Fix Bleached Hair

If you’re a blonde, you already know what happens when you go into a heavy chlorinated pool. But fear not, my blond beauties! Apparently putting ketchup in your hair (and leaving it in there for five minutes) helps to get rid of that green tinge. Plus it works as a great conditioner, putting a lot of natural oils back into your hair. What’s the science behind it? We have no idea. But what’s the worst that could happen?

5.     The Bottle is Worth More Than the Ketchup

Seriously, the bottle has so many more uses than the actual ketchup. You can use it to easily dispense pancake batter, as well as store and dispense homemade paint. If you take some time to research, there are so many cool and interesting ways to use ketchup bottles – and the ketchup that comes in them!
