6th Day of Twelve Days of Christmas Cookies

“No Bake – Christmastime Orange Balls”

These no bake cookies just might be one that you remember your grandmother making during the Christmas holiday season. I know mine did! This recipe is an older but never forgotten one and a huge favorite when first tried. This sweet orange tasting cookie is quick, easy, and definitely one you might want to keep ingredients on hand for as your last minute recipe to make for a gathering of family and friends. This is one cookie that is perfect with a hot cup of coffee, especially after a long day of Christmas shopping!

Ingredients:

  • 12oz. Vanilla wafers, finely crushed
  • 16 oz. pkg. of powdered sugar
  • 6 oz. can of frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
  • ½ cup butter, softened (not melted)
  • 1 cup pecans, finely chopped

Directions:

Combine all ingredients mixing well. Shape into one inch balls; roll in chopped pecans, coconut or confectioners’ sugar. *I prefer the use of coconut.

Refrigerate in an airtight container.

This recipe yields 5-6 dozen cookies.

A Little Bit of Decorating Fun!

Have you ever noticed how magical bells seem to be during Christmas? Why not wire different sizes on to a wreath or string several on ribbon and then hang from your doorknob.

For a warm glow at dinner on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, place a floating candle in a water-filled wine glass, tie a festive ribbon around the stems base, set one at each place setting, Magical!
