Live animals to entertain and educate on locomotion
In conjunction with Geauga Park District’s Something’s Afoot: Nature Just Can’t Stay Put motion-themed exhibit at The West Woods, come meet a selection of Ohio’s wildlife and see first-hand how claws, paws and tails help different animals get from one place to another.
What: Ohio’s Movers and Shakers Live Animal Program
When: Saturday, January 18 – 2 to 3 p.m.
Where: The West Woods Nature Center,
9465 Kinsman Road (Route 87), Russell Township
This program will be presented by wildlife biologist Harvey Webster of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, with the help of Ohio wildlife from the museum’s Perkins Wildlife Center.
“There will be fliers, climbers, diggers, runners and slitherers: hawks, owls, opossum, skunk, rabbit, turtles, snakes and other live native Ohio animals,” Harvey said.
Registration is not required for this all-ages, wheelchair/stroller accessible program.
The Something’s Afoot exhibit is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for hands-on learning and exploration before or after the program. Call 440-286-9516 with questions.
