Science Olympiad Teams Qualify for State Competition

Chardon Science Olympiad sent three teams to the Regional Science Olympiad competition that took place at Case Western Reserve University, on Saturday February 22, 2014. Two Division B teams (6th through 9th grade) and one Division C team (9th through 12th grade) competed.

We are proud to announce that the Chardon teams took 2nd and 3rd place respectively, which advances them to the State Competition held at Ohio State University in Columbus on April 26! The teams competed in 23 events related to Social Science, Earth & Space Science, Physical Science & Chemistry, Technology & Engineering, and Inquiry & Nature of Science. Medals were given to the top three standings per event and trophies to the top three teams.

The Division B team took 2nd place overall and the Division C team took 3rd place overall. The Regional event had 24 teams competing from 15 Northeast Ohio schools in Div B, and 23 teams in Div C from 16 schools.
