Chardon Students Participate in CANstruction Event

Chardon students from left, Sam Snyder, Rebecca and Natalie Fullerman and Katie Snyder recently participated in CANstruction Jr. at Beachwood Mall. CANstruction combines the competitive spirit of a design/build competition with a unique way to help feed the hungry.

The students had to collect 500 cans to participate, with friends and family from Munson Elementary and Girl Scout troops 563, 1166 all helping them to reach their goal. The theme for the event was “Route 66.”

The Chardon team built a cactus, which earned them the “Best Use of Labels” award. At the close of the exhibition, cans of food used in the structures were donated to the Cleveland Food Bank.
