$500 to Womensafe

The Chardon Middle School National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) continues its mission of service as they recently presented a check for $500 to Womensafe. The money was raised through the group’s Valentine Candy Sale and Easter Basket Raffle. Presenting the check to Womensafe representative Nikki Matala was NJHS president, Kyle Gessel.

Maple fourth grader Charlotte Bennett competed in the Invention Convention Regional Competition on May 3, at the Great Lakes Science Center this year. She won 2nd prize for 4th graders and a $250 scholarship. Her invention was the Crash Cap. It is a swim cap designed to help prevent head injuries in swimming (for backstroke swimmers and disabled swimmers).

The Terrific Kids program is a joint partnership with the Chardon Kiwanis Club and the Maple PTO in recognizing students with specific traits that are spotlighted each month. Hilltopper Football Fundamentals Camp

The 2014 Future Hilltopper Football Fundamentals Camp will be held June 9-12 from 9-11 am at Chardon Memorial Field. The emphasis for this camp is football fundamentals. This camp is available to players age 6 to those entering the 6th grade. The registration fee is $52 and includes a camp T-shirt.
