What: Star Wars Reads Day III

Star Wars Reads Day is an international event that celebrates reading and Star Wars. It was launched in 2012 by Lucasfilm and its publishing partners including Disney Book Group. The intergalactic council of library staff at Bainbridge Library has harnessed the Force to line up a stellar day of activities. Staff will be dressed as Star Wars characters, and library dog, Atticus, will be an Ewok.
Jedi Activity Schedule
All Day Food & Fun
9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Enjoy Wookie Cookies, Banta Bites, & Palatine Popcorn as you participate in a variety of Star Wars activities.
All Day Costume Contest
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Dress as your favorite Star Wars Character and have your picture taken. Prizes given for best kids, teen, and adult costumes. Judging is done by library staff at the end of the day.
Participants need not be present to win.
Light-Saber Training
10 – 11 a.m.
Star Wars characters will guide you through the moves you need to know as a Jedi knight.
Test out your training with Darth Vader. Destroy the Death Star Piñata at the end of training to test your skills. Receive an official Jedi Academy certificate when you finish training.

Vader Bingo
10 – 11 a.m.
While the young Jedi’s are in light saber training, Star Wars characters will call out an interactive game of bingo. Spell out V A D E R to win great prizes. Space is limited, registration required.
Star Wars movie
1:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Enjoy a Star Wars movie. Refreshments provided.
Lava walk on Mustafar
9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Can you brave the elements of the hot lava planet Mustafar? Test your skills by walking across the Lego fire tarp to win prizes.
Stormtrooper Strike
9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Knock over a set of Stormtrooper bowling pins and win a free book. Pin sets for both kids and adults.
Where’s That Wookie?
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
A mini Chewbacca is hidden somewhere in the library. Can you find him? If you locate him, you win a free dollar movie!
