The equipment will allow teachers and students to interact with projected images on a white board or in this case HDTV’s. This project will impact the students in the Berkshire School District for years to come. Funding for this project came from Burton-Middlefield Rotary and Rotary International’s matching grant funds.

The Rotary Club of Burton-Middlefield has for many years supported Rotary’s international work as well as projects like this in our local community. The international work has included educational infrastructure projects, similar to the E-Beam one at Berkshire, in a rural part of Patagonia, Argentina. These projects totaling almost $100,000 in Rotary matching grant funds supplied basic computer equipment to support education and equipment to support school attendance and physical education in these rural areas. Rotary continues to emphasize education as one its six primary areas of focus in both its international and local community work.
