NDES eighth grade algebra students discover exponential equations through real world examples. As a collaboration activity involving algebraic equations and the properties of physics students, over the course of a week, tested a ball’s recoil and the recoil decay of a bouncing ball.
Both experiments allowed students to test their hypothesis along with measuring growth by using exponential equations, one with growth and the other with decay.
