Kindergarten Students Use BINGO to Help with Numbers

Kindergarten students work together to identify numbers in order to get a BINGO on their game board.

Our Kindergarten students in Mrs. Derecskey’s class had a lot of fun recently using their classroom lessons to help them with a favorite game – BINGO!

Students worked with a partner to identify which numbers were being depicted in each square. Rather than numerals, numbers were represented by ten frames, tally marks, numbers, dot patterns and number words.

Students had to visually identify and differentiate each card shown in order to put a marker on their space. “In addition to the math they were reviewing, they had to utilize their social skills because the game took a lot of cooperation,” says teacher Mrs. Derecskey. “The kids all had so much fun trying to get their Bingos!”
