When creating a new product, developing a new process, or expanding your business into a new market, the key to success is being very clear from the beginning where you are headed. To help businesses prepare and position themselves for such success, Geauga Growth Partnership (GGP) and Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network (MAGNET) are teaming up to provide free training in Ideation.
IDEATION: A Workshop presented by MAGNET will take place on Friday, April 8. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the program and Q & A will take place from 8-9:30 a.m. at Kent State University, Geauga, 14111 Claridon Troy Road Burton, OH 44021. Register for this free workshop here.
According to Wikipedia.org, “Ideation is the creative process of generating, developing, and communicating new ideas … that can be either visual, concrete, or abstract. Ideation comprises all stages of a thought cycle, from innovation to development to actualization.” Manufacturing consultants from MAGNET Michael O’Donnell and Linda Barita will lead the group in an interactive workshop to learn the importance and process of Ideation.
The goal through MAGNET is to teach companies to work toward their own solutions, rather than to generate the answers for them, so participants should come prepared to explore the Ideation process in small groups.
Michael O’Donnell, Growth and Innovation Advisor for PRISM Program, has vast experience in the manufacturing field in areas of technical, industrial and business improvement. He holds certifications in Innovation, 6 Sigma, Lean Product Development, Lean Manufacturing and Professional engineering.
Linda Barita, Director of Strategic Alliances, has more than 25 years industry experience, ranging from marketing and sales to product development and more. Linda is a graduate from Youngstown State University, is on the board for the Cleveland Engineering Society, and also is the founder and Director of the Women Leaders of Economic Development group for NEO.
