Middlefield, OH – The Cardinal Local School District is celebrating third grader Frank C. on his selection as an Ohio Lottery, Partners in Education/Academic All-Star! Cardinal Intermediate School Principal Julie Fulton received word of the recognition via email on Friday, April 22, 2016. “As soon as I found out I told his teacher Mrs. Cardinal,” Fulton says. “We waited until he was done testing to share the news with him – he’s been working extremely hard this year and we are so proud of him!”
The Ohio Lottery Partners in Education/Academic All-Star program is designed to recognize K-12 students who exhibit academic achievement, community involvement, citizenship, and leadership in and out of the classroom. Students can be nominated for the award by school faculty, staff, or fellow student peers. From the nominations, one student from each of the Ohio Lottery’s nine geographic regions is chosen to receive the honor each month. Cardinal schools is part of the Lottery’s ninth region, which represents the Lorain area. Frank was nominated by his teacher, Mrs. Cardinal, who says, “Frank strives to achieve and learn as much in a day as he can. He is always on task, works hard, and is determined to meet goals set for him.” Frank currently has a 3.75 GPA, wrestles, plays football and was recently rewarded by school staff for his positive attitude and polite behavior in the classroom.
Along with a special Ohio Lottery Partners in Education/Academic All-Star certificate, Frank will also receive a $50 VISA gift card, Partners in Education merchandise, and his name, article, and picture on the Ohio Lottery’s website.
